OUR VENUE
PINTA is hosted right next to the entrance of Malta’s capital city, Valletta.
Gnien Laparelli is located right next to the City Gate of Valletta, Malta. The stretch of the ditch from the spur of St. John’s Bastion to the spur of St. James’ Bastion was chosen for the new garden.
During the Second World War, a deep ditch, originally designed to separate Valletta’s bastioned land front with two cavaliers, various galleries and rooms were excavated in the live rock to create shelters where many residents from Valletta took refuge during the relentless air raids by the Axis powers. Nowadays, this stretch of the ditch has been transformed into a magnificent garden. In addition to its unique design, the ditch contains around 2,500m² of paved ground, 47 indigenous trees, 4,400 indigenous shrubs, and recreation facilities, making it a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Furthermore, Gnien Laparelli is well connected, with the main bus station just a 2-minute walk away, providing connections to every locality on the island. There are also two large multistory car parks nearby and easy access for people with disabilities, among other amenities.
